From Chaos Dwarfs

Xander says: Where does the fluff "Hobgoblins and the Mornguld" come from? Thanks.

Cornixt says: Looks like fan fluff. I propose we move all the fan fluff on there to it's own page.

While this is player-written, the content in the Mornguld section is accurate. It's fine to leave it as is, and those without official fluff support have been labeled as such. -The Flying Beaver

Cornixt says: Just realised the Mournguld stuff is from 3rd edition (although I persoally can't vouch for its accuracy, but if FB thinks its correct then that is fine) so it is okay to keep in there although maybe we should add a note about the age of the info given how GW shift continents and change entire cultures in each new edition (obvious example of Chaos Dwarfs). I don't think there should be any fan fluff on an 'official' page like this one but a link to it would be okay. If we allow one person's fan fluff then why not everyone else's? That would increase the sizes of the pages and confuse casual readers.

This whole page is a little odd. I don't mean any disrespect to whoever wrote it (since it's well written), but how useful is the stuff about the possible origin of the name 'hobgoblin'? It looks like a weird attempt to reconcile Warhammmer fluff with real world etymology or something. Compared to the articles on other races and troop types it's massively long and much of it is either fan-fluff or guesswork. Thommy H 18:39, 2 September 2007 (EDT)

I agree that it needs quite a bit of editing. Might be a good idea to split the Mournguld and cathay stuff to a separate page. Although it is well written, it is well away from the 4th/5th ed fluff. It isn't good for people new to the army and isn't really applicable on the main Hobgoblin page. Cornixt 11:52, 3 September 2007 (EDT)

If no one gets there first, I'll do some work on it in a few days time, when I'm back on my home computer. Thommy H 14:20, 3 September 2007 (EDT)

I've redone this page almost from scratch now. Hopefully it's a bit closer to how we want it now. The stuff about Cathay and the Mornguld has been moved to Hobgoblins and the Mornguld. Thommy H 12:11, 6 September 2007 (EDT)
